The Responsible Host Pledge allows families to commit that their household will be a safe gathering point for teens.
To Utilize the Responsible Host Pledge:
Print out the contract and parent tips. (Link found below) You may also obtain the pledge from any school resource officer.
Review and discuss the contract and tips with you children
Take the completed contract to either your school resource officer or local police or substation along with photo ID.
-
Post the contract and parent tips somewhere handy in the house as a reminder
When you are having a party, include either your phone number or address on the invitation so other parents can check to see that you are a "responsible host" house
-
When your child is invited to a party, you can check if that home is a responsible host by checking the database.
HOWEVER, you should call the host whether or not a responsible host. It is your responsibility to verify that the gathering is at the actual house your child is telling you and that an adult will be present who understands responsible host guidelines.
